ProClaim was founded by Cindy Orfino and Joanne Orlando in response to the growing demands of the ambulance community to maximize reimbursement. Changes in healthcare, in particular ambulance billing and reimbursement, require knowledge and experience that only comes with working exclusively on EMS claims. Choosing a company that possesses this expertise is the first step towards financial success. With over 25 years experience, specifically in ambulance billing and collections, Joanne and Cindy have both extensive practical and management experience in the EMS industry.
Joanne developed, coordinated and maintained the Medical Transportation Department at Westchester County Medical Center for inpatient and outpatient services. During her tenure she developed this facility’s Medical Transportation Manual that included the policies, procedures, and mandated requirements for all Federal, State and County agencies. After leaving, she worked as Assistant Director of Reimbursement for one of the largest private ambulance companies in the New York metropolitan area with billings of over $4 million per month. In addition, Joanne served as Director of Reimbursement for a large private company that serviced the 5 boroughs as well as the 911 EMS service of New York City. Currently, Joanne is both partner and Director of Client Services of ProClaim.
An expert in billing and collections, Cindy’s entire career has been focused on the ambulance industry. She many times functioned as the key ‘point person’ in the integration of the accounts receivable of acquired companies into larger ones. She was consistently ‘recruited’ by ambulance companies to correct previous billing errors, ‘clean up’ the receivables and guide them to a path of financial success. In addition, Cindy served as the Assistant Director of Reimbursement for a large private ambulance company that serviced the 5 boroughs and the 911 EMS service of New York City. Currently, Cindy is both partner and Director of Operations of ProClaim.
One of ProClaim’s first projects was an extensive ambulance collections effort. In less than six (6) months, ProClaim was successful in recovering over $1 million from the accounts receivable. Numerous private and volunteer ambulance services have chosen to outsource their billing to Proclaim. Our clients have discovered that ProClaim’s management of billing office functions results in rapid acceleration of cash flow along with a permanent reduction in operating costs. More importantly, freedom from the burdens of managing receivables enables them to focus on the things they do best.
At ProClaim, our committed staff understands Reimbursement and Collections from both the insurance company and provider viewpoints.
